About ContextShift
What ContextShift is, who it is for, and how we build it.
What we build
ContextShift is a Windows desktop app that captures and restores full workspaces: apps, multi-monitor layouts, browser tabs (with the optional extension), and terminals.
It is built for people who juggle several projects on one machine and want a reliable checkpoint instead of rebuilding setups by hand.
Local-first by design
Contexts are stored on your PC under %APPDATA%\ContextShift. There is no required cloud account, no analytics pipeline, and no remote sync of your workspace data.
The same Rust engine powers the desktop app, system tray, and on-screen overlay.
Trial and licensing
You get a 14-day free trial with full features. After the trial, one chosen context remains fully restorable and manual management stays available; unlimited switching and autosave require a license.
Licenses are activated in the app (for example via Lemon Squeezy). Purchase and billing details depend on the storefront you use at checkout.
