Terms of Use
Terms that apply when you download, install, or use ContextShift.
Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using ContextShift (“the Software”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on Windows devices you own or control, subject to your trial status or paid license.
You may not reverse engineer, redistribute, resell, or circumvent license checks except where applicable law forbids those restrictions.
Eligibility
You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Software, and, where required, be old enough to consent to these Terms on your own behalf or have a parent or guardian’s consent.
Trial and paid features
The free trial lasts 14 days from first launch with full features. After the trial, one chosen context remains fully restorable and autosave is disabled unless you activate a valid license.
Refunds and your right of withdrawal
Paid licenses are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record; pricing, refunds, chargebacks, and applicable taxes are handled under Lemon Squeezy’s own terms and purchase conditions shown at checkout.
If you are an EU or UK consumer, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a digital purchase within 14 days. Because the Software is delivered and can be used immediately after purchase, checkout may ask you to expressly waive that right in exchange for immediate access; where it isn’t waived, contact contact@context-shift.com to exercise it.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for backing up important work and for how the Software interacts with other apps on your system (including closing or opening windows when you use Shift).
Do not use the Software for unlawful purposes or in ways that violate others’ rights.
Intellectual property
The Software, including its name, logo, and underlying code, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms give you a license to use the Software as described above — they do not transfer any ownership rights to you.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Software is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of data, profits, or business, arising from use of the Software.
Termination
These Terms and your license end automatically if you breach them; we may also revoke a specific license in cases of fraud, chargeback, or abuse. On termination, you must stop using the Software and delete any installer copies you control — locally stored Contexts and app data remain yours to keep or delete.
Export control and compliance with laws
You are responsible for using the Software in compliance with the export control, sanctions, and other laws that apply to you, including not using it in a country or in a manner those laws prohibit.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by French law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The French courts have jurisdiction over any dispute not resolved informally, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country of residence.
If you are an EU consumer, the European Commission also provides an online dispute resolution (ODR) platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
